Transcripts of uploaded audio are only partial

I’ve recently begun using the transcripts feature. All was good, initially, but suddenly the transcripts are not complete. They stop mid-sentence towards the end, but still leave a lot un-transcribed.

Is there something I could do to change this, or is it a bug, or a known limitation?

Many thanks in advance,
John

You might be hitting one of the limitations:

  • Audio files must be 15 minutes or less to be transcribed. Longer audio files will be skipped with a message in Account → View logs.
  • Only 1 episode can be processed for transcription each day.

But if you suspect there’s something else going on, feel free to email Micro.blog support with the audio file attached, and we can take a look.

Thanks, Sven.

The audio is 13 minutes 11 seconds, and I’m following the one episode per day rule. I’ll email Micro.blog support with the audio file attached, as you suggest.

John

I’m looking into this. Also, I need to update the documentation… We actually removed the 15-minute limit. Micro.blog automatically splits the audio files into segments so it can transcribe each one and then put them back together. (Which also sounds like the root of this problem you’re hitting…)

Thanks, Manton. It does sound like that, that a final segment of the transcript is somehow being missed when it’s all put back together.

I have to say that the transcription via micro.blog is incredibly accurate. I very much appreciate what you guys do.

The issue is fixed

The file I uploaded a short while ago has been transcribed from start to finish. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Job well done
