Recently I managed to figure out how to map my new domain (www.therivertao.com) to my Micro.blog content, which had been at www.apoorplayer.blog. However, I see no feature or tool which allows me to redirect apoorplayer.blog to therivertao.com. Since I don’t have access to name.com, where apoorplayer.blog is still registered as active according to WHOIS, how do I create a simple 301 re-direct to send traffic from apoorplayer.blog to therivertao.com? Thanks.
You have to have access to your old domain to set up 301 redirects.
For example, I migrated: cerebralrift.org → cerebralrift.cc. On cerebralrift.org I set up 301 redirects to point to cerebralrift.cc (using the list of mappings from Posts → … → Manage Paths).
That’s my point - I don’t have access credentials to name.com, the location where my original blog domain is located. MB handles all that in the background when it creates a new domain name for you. Someone connected to MB has to take care of it, since I am without access.
