Is it possible to add audio narration after posting? I see the audio button for new posts, but haven’t spotted anything on the editing side.
Yes, it is, and it’s actually described further down the page you’re linking to. 
In the Uploads section, after you’ve uploaded an audio file, click the … button and choose Copy HTML for narration.
