Hi - I really love the Epilogue feature that produces your “year in books” list of everything you read last year.
I think last time I used it you could click on each cover and it’d take you to the blog post you wrote about it. This time though all my covers link to the year in books post itself (i.e. the same page as you’d be looking at, so you go nowhere ).
Checking whether this is a deliberate change, or have I somehow done something wrong?
Example page with this issue here.
Thanks! That wasn’t a deliberate change. It is supposed to link to your blog post about the book, if there was one.
I think the change we made to allow books to be counted as “finished” without actually having a blog post about the book has broken this. We’re probably going to have to go back and correct the data to include the link.
As a partial fix, I’m going to change this to at least link to the generic book detail page for each cover, so it will be more useful for people browsing your year in books page.
If it is possible to go back to link them to blog posts where they exist that would be my personal preference (on the basis readers maybe come to our blogs to read our thoughts on them!) - but I understand that might be tricky when it’s not guaranteed that there is such a post.
But linking to the generic book page sounds good if the above isn’t actually possible! Much appreciated.
I rolled out the fix to at least link them to the book pages. It’ll update next time your blog is updated.
I’m pretty sure I can also go back and fix this to actually link to the specific blog post too. I need to wait until the Micro.one dust settles, then will revisit it. Thanks y’all.
