Updating podcast image?

I uploading a pretty large image thinking that Micro.blog would resize it to something smaller. Now I have a podcast image that is 3000x3000 that is a little over 3.5 MB in size, which gets loaded by my home page because I use the larger image as a profile photo.

Anyway I can replace this image with something smaller? It takes too long to load on my homepage.

It’s best to upload a separate image for the podcast cover art. I recommend something like this:

  • Go to Account and upload a profile photo as JPEG that is much smaller. 200x200 is usually fine.
  • Go to Uploads and upload a separate PNG for the podcast art at 3000x3000.
  • Go to Design and click on the thumbnail for the podcast art. That will allow you to select the separate PNG you uploaded.

Let me know if that works!

Thank you for the response, @manton.

I uploaded a new image, but I am not able to find any mention of podcast or thumbnail/artwork in the Design page. Is this plugin specific?

Oh, it only shows up if you’re subscribed to Micro.blog Premium, which is the plan with all the podcast-related features, audio transcription, etc. I just assumed you were already subscribed to that. :slightly_smiling_face:

Here’s a screenshot of what the Design page looks like after you upgrade:

I apologize for the confusion, I am currently subscribed to the base Micro.blog subscription.

Then issue is with my plugin relying on the podcast image for a higher resolution picture of the author. I will work around this.

Thanks!

Along these same lines, is there an option to place a podcast on a subdomain? I don’t see any way of doing this in the settings.

To use a subdomain just for the podcast, currently you would need a separate hosted blog for the podcast. One blog for the main blog (yourdomain.com) and another for the podcast (podcast.yourdomain.com).

Let me know if I’m misunderstanding anything. Thanks!

That’s what I figured, just thought I’d ask anyway. :+1:t2:
