Unchecking the cross-posting options on a post is not working. Micro.blog is still cross-posting the post to Bluesky, Mastodon and Threads. It happens every time I do it.
Can you tell us more about the flow you’re using? Are you writing a new post, choosing “Show cross-posting”, unchecking a service, and then posting? Or are you saving a draft and editing it?
Assuming this is on the web. If it’s in one of the apps, let me know.
I’m using the Micro.publish from @otaviocc to post from Obsidian. The app has no cross-posting control. However, I can set the post as “public” or “draft”.
If I want to uncheck the cross-posting, I set it as draft, then I go to Micro.blog, open the post, uncheck all the cross-posting apps and post. This worked fine in the past, but it’s not working anymore. I have also tested unchecking, then saving the draft again and finally posting. That also didn’t work.
This is strange. When you uncheck the cross-posting options and publish the post, if you go back to edit the post, is cross-posting enabled again or do the checkboxes remain unchecked?
Sorry, I think I figured it out. We have some special support for client apps that don’t understand cross-posting, but when editing a post it was getting tripped up. I’ll have the fix ready by tomorrow.
I’m having this issue in the Mac desktop app. Everything gets cross-posted, even if I uncheck. If I go back after posting to edit the post, either in the app or on the web, cross-posting is checked again.
Will this be helped by the fix or is this a different issue?
That sounds like a different issue. I’m looking into it, thanks!
I also think showing the checkboxes for blog posts that have already been posted is confusing, so we’ll probably change that.
Thank you!
And agreed on the checkboxes
