I’d like to find a theme or plugin that will let me have two streams of posts on the home page, in two columns, with longer, titled posts on the left, and micro posts on the right. The macro posts would be about three-quarters width, and micro about one-quarter width. Something like waxy.org
but based on the Alpine theme, which I like.
Is this do-able by someone with minimal coding skills?—nearly zero–but I can cut-and-paste like a fiend.
I’d be willing to use a different theme. Not hugely attached to Alpine.
I could absolutely use “has title.” I could also use categories, but “has title” would be one or two fewer clicks.
Let me approach the problem another way: I’m looking to let longer/more significant posts linger on the home page for more tie than the micro.blog fleeting posts. Is there a good way to do that? I can’t think of anything better than the two-column approach.
Maybe some way to pin posts in a row at the top of the page, like Boing Boing does? (Warning: Leftist politics, for those of you who might be triggered by that kind of thing.)
Another alternative would be to use art to set off meatier posts, like Kottke does.
