Tumblr Import Strips HTML Markup

I just tried to import a blog from tumblr (using a tumblr zip export), and while the import generally worked fine, what arrived in micro.blog is missing all links and all other markup, such as bold, italic, etc. The tags are present in HTML in the tumblr export, but in micro.blog everything is only plain text with no markdown.

The blog is at furthermore-test.micro.blog. I can provide the Tumblr export file if necessary.

Thanks, the export file actually would be helpful. If it’s not too big, send it in an email to help@micro.blog and I’ll take a look.

I just reviewed how our import works, and this does look like a limitation. Sorry we missed that. I’ll start working on a fix.

Thank you for looking into it. The file has almost 2,000 posts, which makes it a bit impractical. I’ll try and trim it down to a single post that shows the effect.

Another problem I had was that none of my posts has a title, but after the import, all of my posts showed a literal <h1></h1> as a title in micro.blog. I looked and the posts did have an empty <h1></h1> in their body, which I removed before a second attempt to import. I’ll send you a single post as it came out of tumblr initially, with the empty title in it.
