Theme error: fatal error: runtime: out of memory

I see a similar bug posted in 21 - but nothing since.

No other errors on my site - all seem to be working - but still.

In 21 it seemed to be a server issue?

Anyone else seeing this - tried a different browser and same issue.

Holding off by dev until I know we are all good again.

It’s definitely happening on the build server, but it’s hard to pinpoint the cause without the full error message. It could be, for example:

  • A temporary issue caused by an unusual server workload
  • A more persistent problem where the server might need an upgrade
  • A bug in the Hugo version that’s building the site
  • A bug in one of the installed plug-ins
  • A bug in the theme or custom theme currently in use

I haven’t seen any other reports, and I just successfully rebuilt my own site. So it’s probably not a widespread ongoing problem. If you get the error again, try switching to the default Sumo theme and set your Custom theme to None.

Thank you - I have been changing things a lot on the site, so I took this as an opportunity to stop and go smell some roses. Just checking tonight - and all is good again.

Sorry about that. I’m making some more server tweaks to make this less likely.
