For the first time in a long while I have dropped an RSS feed from a wordpress site onto micro blog. What I was expecting to happen is the post link to be just dropped into my blog as a link to go back to the Wordpress site - but what is actually happening is that the whole post is being set as if it is a normal post on my Micro Blog site.
Now I have ‘read the instructions’ (why do that first ) that does indeed seem to be the correct outcome.
All good - but is that the only way to feed it in?
Preferred behavior …
- write post on WP and publish
- a LINK to that post is fed to micro blog and appears - but is not presented as an original on micro.blog
Thankyou in anticipation - and hope that makes sense.
I don’t think that’s an option without that being the content of your feed.
Thank you Jason - then I will need to explore how I can get round this. Appreciate the fast response.
It depends what you mean by “link to the Wordpress site” and “original on micro.blog”.
On the timeline every post includes a link to the full site. This is most obvious with titled posts and long posts without a title. Short posts without a title look much more native but still include the link to the site; it is found outside of the post body (on the Mac and web that is the timestamp of the post).
This is predicated on your choice in the Sources settings, whether “Add posts” or “Import posts”.
Aahh … so just checked … and I have set to import… so change to ‘add’ and I get the behavior? Thankyou Simon.
In the timeline, for title posts, yes. It’ll show the title plus a link. Short posts will not show the title explicitly — unless you put the link in the original post — but folks can click through to WordPress via the timestamp (on the web and Mac; I can’t remember how it works on mobile).

There is still no intermediate option, right?
- YES: timeline only, doesn’t show on your blog
- NO: blog creates link posts to source
- YES: blog fully imports from source with no visible attribution

Nope, that option doesn’t exist.

Simon - Thank you and Todd ( @toddgrotenhuis ) for your help - for now will leave as it sits until I get the app working.
