Replies to Mastodon Mentions

I have currently setup: No Sources, 1 Cross-posting account (mastodon).

In the Mentions tab I see mentions from folks replying to my mastodon account messages (doesnt seem to matter if I wrote them from micro.blog or not)

When I click “reply” in the micro.blog website UI, the reply gets posted as my @micro.blog activitypub account, not the mastodon one the messages were pulled from.

Is this intentional? It’s a bit confusing.

How often does this update? I’m not seeing one from Feb 9th. (Also the main micro.blog discover feed was stuck/didnt update for 3 days… !)

Yeah, it is a little confusing. Micro.blog has a lot of features and moving parts. It is not a full-featured Mastodon client, though, so while you can cross-post to a Mastodon account, you can’t make replies on behalf of your Mastodon account.

The Discover feed is manually curated by humans, and nowadays, I think that’s mostly Manton. So, it can sometimes go a couple of days without updates.

Ah! didn’t know that, maybe we need a voting mechanism… I assumed it was just “everything everyone said”

The goal is for Discover to feel like a snapshot of lots of different posts going on in Micro.blog, without getting overwhelming. In terms of voting, we’ve also heard the suggestion that it should be easy to mark a post as “this should be in Discover” when you see something you like. Lots of room for improvement here, including getting more people involved in the curation.
