Noticed today that new posts are not making it to the timeline. I have only posts with the category “timeline” published to the timeline and my logs give the following status after a manual rebuild:
I’m sorry the RSS feed is “large” but I have no idea how to make it not so and no way to fix posts not showing up in the timeline if this continues.
I have changed from https://micro.anniegreens.lol/categories/timeline/feed.xml to https://micro.anniegreens.lol/categories/timeline/feed.json and that appears to have fixed things for now. Not very intuitive as to why it fails but I assume it is a limitation that I do not have control over. It also isn’t necessarily obvious that the feed is ingesting in entirety instead of only new items.
Yup. the .xml doesn’t work for the timeline.
It worked up until this morning.
There’s a file size limit for RSS, but not for JSON processing.
That is why I switched it, to test that theory out. I’m not sure I saw this limitation documented anywhere. Perhaps the log could better reflect this or if someone adds an XML RSS feed in the first place something could warn them about that limitation in the UI.
