Partial Content Crossposting from Ghost Blog

I have a longform blog hosted on Ghost and I would like to add the RSS feed to my Micro.blog, however, I don’t want the whole Ghost blogpost to show up on my Micro.Blog, just the Title and a link to the Ghost site. Any recommendations on setting that up, is it something to configure here at Micro.Blog, or something to figure out at Ghost?

I am 95% sure that a post that has a title and the content exceeds 300 characters will get a title and a link back.

It imported the whole blog! Or does selecting the “share to timeline” option just pull in title and permalink?

No I could just be in the 5% I’m wrong. The best way to change what it imoorts is to have an exactly what you want imported in your RSS or JSON feed that is being imported.

What @jsonbecker said is right but I’ll add a little more detail…

If you are migrating from Ghost, you can import directly from the Ghost export file by clicking Posts → “…” → Import. It doesn’t sound like that’s what you want, just adding this for completeness.

If you want to link back to Ghost from the Micro.blog timeline, add the RSS feed in Sources and make sure the “Add posts to timeline” option is selected. Blog posts with titles will include the title and link back to your Ghost blog.

If you want to copy the full blog posts to a Micro.blog-hosted blog, add the RSS feed in Sources and select the “Copy posts” option. Doesn’t sound like that’s what you want.

Point of clarification: does “add posts to timeline” mean you will see the link in my timline if you go to my Micro.Blog site, or does it mean you will only see the link if you “follow” my Micro.Blog?

Both, when we say “timeline” here it really means the Micro.blog timeline (for anyone following you) and your profile page on Micro.blog.
