My avatar image (the one pulled from Gravatar when I set up the account) vanished sometime today.
I’m guessing it just was part of the upsets over the last 48 hours, and it was easily fixed, but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this?
I haven’t noticed any avatar problems. We cache the images from Gravatar, so it’s possible something went wrong with the cache. Glad it’s working now.
In the past, my Gravatar has occasionally gone missing. I haven’t really figured out what triggers this so I just email Manton when it happens. My suspicion is there’s something weird happening with Mastodon, some how.
Oh, thanks @jsonbecker for the reminder about that issue. There was a bug a while back where the avatar URL stored inside Micro.blog got cleared. I thought it had been fixed but I’ll check again.
