Basically being able to have a newsletter that’s not bound to a blog. I have multiple blogs and it would nice, imagine something where I would a create a digest from all.

Not exactly what you’re asking for, but with Micro.blog Premium you can have up to 5 blogs, so you could set up one “blog” as just a newsletter. Remove the archive and similar links from navigation, maybe install the Custom Home Page plug-in, and generally just make it a landing page for the newsletter.
Then configure the newsletter for that “blog” whichever way you like, and post away.

I do have Premium and actually have thought about it, but it never was a so critical for me that justifies doing it, a guy must pick their fights nowadays. Still, that sure is a possible option.
Using a blog for just the newsletter, as @sod suggests, is an excellent idea — but it’s one I decided is not for me. It’s one more thing to update (and often to forget to update). More cutting-and-pasting.
If we could have a single newsletter that aggregates from multiple blogs, here’s how I would use it: I post a lot of memes and Internet jokes and share them in my newsletter. I would prefer not to have them on my main blog. So I’d have one blog for the memes and jokes, another for my actual blog, then combine them two into a single newsletter.
You can have that by importing blog posts via RSS from your “actual blog” and your “memes and jokes blog” to your “newsletter blog” and set up the newsletter to, for example, collect all posts into a weekly email.

How would I set that up, please? have been exploring settings and the documentation and I can’t figure it out.
How to set up RSS imports? You can do that from the Sources page, choose the Import posts to… radio button.
Ah, I see the source of my conclusion: Before going to the Sources page I have to go to the Posts page and switch my default blog from my main blog (mitchwagner.com) to the newsletter blog (newsletter.mitchwagner.com). Let’s see if that works!

I tried to set it up, adding my mitchwagner.com and mitchellaneous.net feeds to newsletter.mitchwagner.com and disabling cross-posting from the duplicate feeds. And in the process I broke cross-posting from mitchwagner.com. I deleted the redundant feeds and all seems right again.
Sorry you ran into trouble with that. Imported feeds shouldn’t cross-post, but maybe you have the newsletter feed connected to your timeline? That could theoretically be set up to cross-post and clutter things up with imported posts.
If you want to try my newsletter idea here, it’s probably best not to have the newsletter blog show up on the Micro.blog timeline at all, or make sure that only the newsletter posts (and not the imported ones) go to the timeline.
