I’m interested in starting a linked list/linklog, a bit like John Gruber’s Daring Fireball; Gruber writes a short comment on things he finds interesting (and thinks his audience will also be interested in), and the title of the post on DF links to the URL of whatever he’s talking about. He then displays a star icon next to the title for a permalink to the post on daringfireball.net
Is this possible with micro.blog?
Not easily today. To do this in Hugo generally (the engine that powers micro.blog) you’d want to edit the RSS template and the single post template to look for custom post front matter for a link. Unfortunately, micro.blog doesn’t support custom front matter in posts which would make setting a link for a post quite difficult.
I don’t know about micro.blog but write.as does support link posts. You can use Markdown in the post title and it will create a link post! It would be cool if micro.blog had it too.
I just use untitled posts for this purpose, with the first sentence as a link. Is that unsatisfactory?
