Is is possible to create a custom RSS feed?

I don’t want to change the default RSS feed at all, but I would like to create a second RSS feed that only has a summary of my posts rather than the full content.

Is this possible?

I tried creating a custom template and adding a copy of the index.xml feed into it named summary.xml. When I try to access that URL, it redirects me to the main feed. It seems there is some routing going on.
