Intermittent publishing failures with Threads

I had a post scheduled to go out with cross-posting to Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon. Threads failed but the other two worked fine. I’ve also experienced this 500 error with non-scheduled posts, which I then handle by manually cross-posting.

Now, a second scheduled post has failed to publish on Threads. I’ll try-relinking the account.

Same, lately I’ve noticed a hit and miss pattern on posts to Threads with media, but I just get the Threads: Error creating media container. error.

My latest post failed to publish to Threads. It had two images and was not scheduled.

I will say that I did just now successfully have a post make it to Threads. This time I only had 1 image instead of 2, and I also added accessibility text. Not sure which part of that helped it succeed more.

I had another that failed, with multiple images, maybe that’s the issue.

That’s annoying. Thanks for reporting this. We retry the Threads cross-posting when it fails, but if things are more flaky than usual we may need to add some additional retrying. I’ll look into it. Thanks!
