Images upload to the wrong domain

I have two domains, each connected to a different blog at micro.blog.

@help When I upload an image at the newer domain (johnarthurnichol.com), the image is not displayed in “Uploads” for that domain. The Uploads page remains blank.

Instead, images uploaded to johnarthurnichol.com appear in the older domain (written.land). It may or may not be relevant that I bought the written.land domain through micro.blog, whereas johnarthurnichol.com is just pointed at micro.blog.

How do I get my images to show up in the appropriate domain?

Are you uploading via the app or the web?

Hi, @pratik :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m uploading via the web, on a Mac.

Go to the New Post page and check what blog is selected at the top. The uploads will usually go to that blog. Click on that blog name on the New Post window to change the blog.

Thanks, Pratik, but the blog I want (johnarthurnichol.com) is already selected at the top. It’s also selected at the top of the Uploads page; but when I upload an image there, it only uploads to written.land.

The same thing happens with audio files. When I upload them at johnarthurnichol.com, they end up in written.land.

However many files I upload at johnarthurnichol.com, of whatever kind, the Uploads page for that domain remains empty.

I really would like to have my uploads appear in the right domain.

Does anyone else have the issue of uploads going to the wrong domain?

Problem kind of solved.

If I open a New Post, in johnarthurnichol.com, and upload an image for that post by clicking the image button beneath the text entry box, that images does upload to johnarthurnichol.com and appears in Uploads for that domain. Even if I then close the Post without saving or publishing (hit the Back button), the image remains right where it should be, in Uploads.

Cool :grinning:

Oops! I have an addendum to that:

I have to type something in the text entry box, otherwise the image still uploads to the wrong domain (written.land)

This must be a bug. I’ll tag @manton and I reckon it’s worth you sending him an email: help@micro.blog

Thanks for the help, @simonwoods :grinning:

I’ll send an email too.

Regards,
John

Thanks y’all, this is indeed strange as uploads should always go to the selected blog. One confusing part is that the default blog as selected on the web is not necessarily the same as the currently selected blog in the mobile apps. Each app maintains its own default.

I only use micro.blog on the web, really.
