HUGE spike in site views - a concern?

Today I have noticed a HUGE spike in viewings of my site. Over the last month from around a maximum of 40 a day (average 10 to 20) to almost 3,000! Is this something that I should be concerned about? If so, what should I do?

Just to add that since I have noticed this spike about 15 minutes ago, I have seen no more rise in views.

There are a few of us who have had that happen lately. Going theory is a rogue bot or crawler somewhere going through every one of your posts and pages.

Thank you Jarrod. Things appear to have returned to normal now. I’ll put it down to a one off (hopefully) event.
