Feature request: customizing "discover" categories

I think that the emoji based categories are clever, but are not always the most discoverable and sometimes at odds with OS emoji pickers (ex: “Quotes” uses a speech bubble so in the Mac picker if you put “quote” you won’t get it, and you need to go remember “speech”)

But a few things that I think would go a long way for me at least

  1. It would be great to have a picker for the official discovery categories within the post editor itself
  2. It would also be great to have an option to sync custom categories with the discover ones when they are the same. Most of mine are pretty simple, and one is “hockey" which is a real discover category. It would be nice to have them piggy back on one another (or a way to use/mix-in discover categories as one’s own). Or even when they differ… if I categorize “devils” “bruins” or “panthers” it could link them to discover “hockey”
  3. I would love to be able to customize any dropdown of that official list – favorite, sort, hiding some… Basically, if I browse to discover and click the dropdown I have to see “knitting” every time which is OK for diverse defaults  but I always have to take extra steps to get to “hockey” or “football” or “basketball” as they are not on the primary list (sorry, I just haven’t made MLS stick yet)
  4. Ideally, my posts editor dropdown would simply be the same as the one on the discover page and my favorite topics set once (or my shortcuts on discover were prioritized in the post picker).
  5. Also would be nice to have an option for the dropdown in the nav so you could hop around more quickly (the same favorites set)

Apologies if these have been covered before, I tried to search but most things are about your own custom categories.

I also realize maybe this is intentional given things are curated by hand and that increased volume could make things break down, but figured I would share some first impressions
