Feature Req: Import into Category

I think a bit about how long I might last on Substack. Thankfully, they offer an export feature alongside a Micro.Blog import feature.

  1. posts are imported as extremely messy HTML. Would be great if there was an ‘import as markdown’

  2. if there are a lot of posts, it is hard to sift through them to place, for example in a “Newsletter” category. It is imported alongside all the other posts, which means organization of one’s history can be very complicated.

For example, what if someone imported thousands of Tumblr microblog posts? if would be good for the user’s organization to be able to “import zip and add Category X to each post”

Good ideas. Substack’s post HTML is indeed very messy. We do a tiny bit of updating during the import, but I was worried about doing too much cleanup and accidentally losing some important parts of the post.

I like “import into category” a lot.
