I’ve asked this before, but didn’t get a good answer because I didn’t include an example. Here is a simple photo post, wild asters.
- Crossposting from Micro.blog to Bluesky gets me the photo, the text, the link to the photo (seemingly redundant), and the alt text. That is great.
- Crossposting to Mastodon, on the other hand, only gets me the text and a link to the photo. No photo and no alt text. So I deleted it. It is easy enough for me to repost the same thing from my Fediverse feed, so no big deal. But . . .
I would really like to know why Bluesky and Mastodon crossposting work so differently. Shouldn’t a post this simple land more or less the same on both platforms? Thank you for any insights you might offer.
