Error when importing a rss.chat feed

I am testing the brand new service from Dave Winer, RSS.chat. I have an account on the demo-server ( demo.rss.chat with the feed Frank on rss.network ) but when I add the feed to my sources, I see the constant message in the logfile “Feed: Skipping item with no link, feed 4849642 2026-07-21 19:00:41” I assume this has something to do with the format of the RSS.Chat-feed? Hope to find a solution for this.

FYI – this is the feed.

and it’s true, the items don’t have links. but they do have guids that are permalinks.

we reserve the link for linkblog entries.

Thanks for catching this. I’m going to update Micro.blog so that it doesn’t require <link> if GUID is there and is a URL anyway. I’ll post an update when the fix is ready.

Okay, it’s working now!

By the way @frank, you added the RSS.chat feed with the “import” option selected. That will add the posts to your blog hosted on Micro.blog instead of just the timeline. If that’s not what you want, you can remove the feed and add it back. We’ve been thinking about redesigning this because it’s confusing.

so this would also work with things like https://rsc.rmdes.be - which is a very changed fork from Dave - if i understand corrctly

Hi @manton thanks for the update. A late reply but I’m on a holiday so pooltime > screentime. I added the feed on purpose to import on my blog. To see how this would work out. But of course this also adds the replies I write on rss.chat. Which look weird on a blog and outgoing rss feed. But I’m glad it works!
