I’m currently reading Tänne minäkin kuolen by Kari Hautamäki. As you can see from the link, it appears in Google Books, yet I’m completely unable to find it with Epilogue. I can see Hautamäki’s other two books by searching with his name, and I can also find them if I search them by their title.
Yeah, I see this too, especially with Scandinavian and other non-English books. @manton is aware of the issue. One workaround is to add the book manually from the new book page after signing in to Micro.blog on the web.
Because of limits by Google, we have switched most search to use the service ISBNdb instead of Google Books. It’s possible their database is focused more on US books.
It has been apparent for a while that we need to build out a full books database of our own, something that is comparable to Goodreads. I’ll keep in mind international books for that, with a few for people to contribute to editing the catalog in other languages.
