Has there been any considerations on disabling Mastodon preview cards when cross-posting?
Mastodon seems to just pick the first link in a post, which often isn’t ideal. I think it would be best to disable them all together — if even possible (?).
Such embeds aren’t created when cross-posting to Bluesky, making posts look more in-line with how it actually looks on my blog and in the Micro.blog timeline:
I think that’s something that is controlled by mastodon. It’s taking the line that you have in your post and adding it. You can see this behavior if you post a link directly in mastodon.
As such, I don’t think that micro.blog has any control over this.

Yup. This is fully mastodon that will grab any link in a standard post and unroll it into OpenGraph. One advantage of not cross posting but instead just having your blog on activity pub is that inline links work and do not do the OpenGraph unfurl, much like on Bluesky.
