Crossposting Pixelfed not working!?

I have setup Pixelfed for crossposting in my microblog-accout. This has worked a long time. Now it stopped working, even I din’t change anything. Any idea?

Which instance are you on? Without knowing more details, I’d bet on some change on the pixelfed end of things here. Do you see any errors in the logs, or messages suggesting the crosspost has actually been tried?
(I’m on a similar page in some ways, using an external blog and just crossposting everything from there to here using an RSS feed, this seems a bit fragile at the moment and apparently micro.blog sometimes just stops polling these feeds. Manually reloading them usually fixes this.)

Yes, of course, you are right, my Pixelfed-instance is pixelfed.social. No, I dont’t have any further details. No logs or error-messages. I was using the crossposting-feature of Micro.Blog.

Now I have tried to disconnect Pixelfed and connect it to MB again. Now it seems to transfer the image of my article to Pixelfed correct. But I don’t know why.

Any idea what to do?

Unfortunately not. I’ve got a long share of really … interesting issues with pixelfed generally and specifically with pixelfed.social and mostly related to federation of comments and replies. Because of that, at the moment I don’t really trust that platform very much.:slightly_frowning_face: Knowing this has been “fixed” with disconnecting and reconnecting in your case somehow adds to this set of odd errors that occur then and now and are hard to get by.
If this happens again, I’d probably ping the pixelfed lead dev (dansup@pixelfed.social ) who’s also running this instance. Maybe he knows where to look…

If reconnecting to Pixelfed worked, sounds like the authentication saved in Micro.blog became invalid somehow… I don’t think Pixelfed expires the auth info, unless something has changed recently.

Best thing for now is probably to keep an eye on it and let us know if it fails again.
