I’ve been experiencing a super annoying bug in the web editor. While I type some text, some previous text disappears and it’s being deleted.
I’m able to experience this bug every time I use the editor (this time I prepared in advance and recorded a video!).
Please note I use Safari (Version 18.2 (20620.1.16.11.8)) on MacOS (15.2)
I just wanted to add that I experience this bug, too. Same browser and os versions.
same. Didn’t know if it was the editor or autocorrect.
I’ve seen this reported a few times elsewhere as well. Definitely a known bug in the community.
The biggest issue is that I don’t know of any alternative to create posts (I mean… there are 3rd party clients it seems but I assumed the web version was quite stable).

I find the web editor basically unusable, except for pasting in images.
Yup. Same here (Arc browser). Hence now I use Drafts to write posts but still have to use the editor for replies and some of mine can get…longer 
I’ve been having trouble reproducing this reliably in day to day use. I use the web editor all the time and don’t run into this. However, by typing the text exactly as it appears in that video above, I can make it happen! So hopefully a fix won’t be far off.

I’m pretty sure the macOS “predictive text” setting is where this is going wrong. If anyone wants to try disabling it in System Settings, search for “predictive” and you should see it. Obviously not a permanent fix but I’d be curious to hear if the deleting text randomly problem goes away.

I think you’re on to something. It seems like what is happening is when autocorrect/prediction happens, the focus is stolen/moved (often not where you are, but back to the start of the post, etc.) and then typing starts to overwrite things?
I’ve just rolled out a new change that I think either fixes this or makes it dramatically better. Please let me know if anyone notices any new problems especially.
