I would like to add breadcrumbs to my pages using something like the suggestion I found in Hugo’s codex, but that doesn’t work out of the box on Micro.blog.
I can’t really describe what’s going on because I don’t know the technical language, but perhaps someone already knows of a working solution that hasn’t yet made it into the Micro.blog plugin directory?
This appears more up to date and I suspect would/should work out of the box (I’m unclear why the linked to thing wouldn’t work on Micro.blog, so I’d like to know more about “doesn’t work”).
Thank you. I’ll try this soon. The thing that wasn’t working before: the solution output the current page, but it didn’t output the previous page. In other words, it didn’t leave a breadcrumb on the page. (I still lack the vocabulary for Hugo, so that’s the best I can do by way of explanation.)
Are you sure that the page had an ancestor? It’s quite possible that the way you think of your site organization and how it’s actually organized in Hugo on micro.blog is not correct. There’s almost no nesting on Micro.blog since virtually everything is a post.
Good point. Maybe breadcrumbs are the wrong answer.
