I can’t find any books searching on bookshelves via the web or epilogue. Books in the discover page, searching by title, searching by ISBN. Nothing is returned when I search for books.
Can you give an example of a search that isn’t working? It all seems to be working for me. We use Google Books for search, and occasionally their API is down, but not very often.
It’s back now. It was down for at approximately 3 hours that I noticed, after which I stopped attempting, from about 30 minutes prior to this post until about 2 hours after it. The frustrating part was it was a completely silent failure, but some aspects were working. I could see the “popular books” page (can’t recall actual name) but search wouldn’t even return an item on that page. ISBN search also failed. But silently. Just nothing returned.
Everything is great now, so I some sort of transient failure.
Thanks for the details. Sorry that it just quietly failed… We should show an error message of some kind when it’s down.
It seems to be down again since yesterdady. For example, Hemingway doesn’t return anything.
I confirmed that it was down. We must be hitting some kind of limit in Google Books. However, it’s back up today. We’re going to have to come up with a new search solution if this continues.
I can’t get any results in bookshelves search, and haven’t been able to for days now.
It’s the same for me, so it’s probably down again.
I’m sorry, this continues to be very disappointing. It’s working for me now, how about for anyone else?
I’m currently working on using Open Library as a backup search for when this happens.
I’ve finished adding Open Library support. It will still prefer Google Books just because it’s faster and more complete in many cases. But I don’t want to depend on Google if we can help it.

It’s working for me right now. I’ve never seen it fail so unless it’s a specific issue then it is down to pure luck.
