ℹ️ Blog Audit

Blog Audit helps keep your blog in good shape by checking for broken links, missing images, blank accessibility descriptions, and other problems. It’s included with Micro.blog Premium for blogs hosted on Micro.blog. Open the “…” menu from Posts, choose “Blog Audit”, and click “Start Audit”.

Requires a Micro.blog Premium subscription.

Checks run in the background without changing anything until you click “Repair”. Drafts and scheduled posts are not included.

Links. Checks links in your published posts for pages that can no longer be reached. Micro.blog looks for saved copies in its archives or the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. When a usable copy is available, “Repair” can update the broken link to point to it.

Images. Finds images in your published posts that no longer load. If Micro.blog or the Wayback Machine has a usable saved copy, “Repair” can update your post to use that image.

Accessibility. Finds images with missing or blank descriptions. These descriptions help people using screen readers understand an image. With AI enabled on your Account page, “Repair” can generate descriptions and add them to your posts as alt tags. Existing descriptions are left alone.

Security. Checks that your Micro.blog address and custom domain have valid HTTPS certificates for secure connections. This check reports problems but does not repair them.

Feeds. Checks that your RSS and JSON feeds can be read and that your home page includes the information feed readers need to find them. This check reports problems but does not repair them.

Plug-ins. Checks installed plug-ins for new versions. Choose “Upgrade Plug-ins” to install available updates. Upgrading replaces plug-in templates but keeps your settings. Disabled plug-ins stay disabled.

Missing. Shows missing post addresses requested by visitors during the last year. This is especially useful after moving a blog. When Micro.blog finds a confident match to an existing post, “Repair” can create a redirect so the old address leads to that post. Addresses without a confident match are left alone. Currently shows the 50 most common missing paths.

Click “View Results” next to a problem to see the details and any available repair options. Repairs that edit posts save a version you can restore from the post editor. Posts you have changed since the audit are skipped.
