Android app: system bar covers the controls when posting

I’m using the official Micro.blog app on Android, more specifically a Samsung Galaxy S24. Often when posting the system controls (task selector, home button, and back button) cover the app’s functions at the bottom, making it impossible to, say, assign categories to a post. I’ve sometimes managed to fix it by restarting the app or turning the device to landscape and back. Here’s a screenshot:

Same here, with multiple devices (both Samsung) and different keyboard apps. The categories bar remains behind the keyboard.
The most annoying part is that if I close the keyboard to reach the toolbar I often can’t summon it back.
