Alpine theme : date format

Quick help request. I’m looking to change the date format everywhere the date is exposed when using the Alpine theme. Is it possible to use the locale of the browser reading the site, i.e. US for US visitors and UK for those visitors?

Also, on the home page that lists all recent posts, there is a date/time at the bottom of each post. I’d like the time format in 24hr.

Any help would be most appreciated. (Note, please don’t point me to an LLM - going round in circles is not my idea of fun)

Many thanks.

Use one of the formats there – but I believe because it’s statically rendered, the locale of the site is respected, not the locale of the user.

So you could use the formatter on that page to get your 24hr time format, but you’re not going to be able to have the time content be based on the locale of the visitor.

Hi Jason, thanks for the prompt reply. I’d already seen this documentation, but I am at a loss as to where to make the changes. Is it in style.css, basof.html, list.html, custom.css, all of the above?

If I mention, it is because I have tried and nothing seems to work. I am not conversant enough to know what i’m doing, I’m only conversant enough to be dangerous

TIA.

Here are the three places dates are formatted in Alpine.

Perfect thank you. I’m starting to understand the structure a little better now.
