Hey! I’m following my micro.blog via ActivityPub as mackuba@micro.blog on my Mastodon profile, and I’ve noticed that it doesn’t seem to delete posts that were deleted here. It’s showing a number of test posts or deleted copies of posts:
I also can’t delete them manually, since this account isn’t controlled by me directly… So either micro.blog isn’t broadcasting deletes properly, or my Mastodon instance is somehow ignoring them? (I’m not sure how this works in ActivityPub)
I think this might be explained by something that can be confusing about how Micro.blog works:
Deleting posts on the Posts page doesn’t necessarily remove posts from the Micro.blog timeline. (Let’s ignore the reasons for now… It may change again, I’ve been reconsidering it.)
ActivityPub is based on the posts on the Micro.blog timeline.
To make sure the posts are deleted, go to your profile page at micro.blog/your-username and click “Remove” next to the posts.
Let us know if that doesn’t fix it on the Mastodon side.
