I have configured my newsletter page but the sending of the newsletter is inconsistent. I made a blog post intending to use it to tune my newsletter setttings but the newsletter will not schedule.
There aren’t any settings other than what is listed on that page. “Long blog post with title” is basically Micro.blog’s way of thinking about full-length blog posts. When you write over 300 characters, Micro.blog shows a title field so you can give the blog post a title. Those are the posts that it’s referring to there.
So is the intention that a blog post will not trigger a newsletter until there’s a post with 300 characters? The last post that I made that triggered a newsletter appears to be only 130 characters yet it triggered a newsletter post.
My intention is to send a newsletter when I post a photo and whatever small title or caption that accompanies the photo. I rarely if ever use near 300 words alongside a photo!
Can this be accommodated in the newsletter functionality?
Your best method there is to send it based on a category, and use a category filter to always have any post with a photo (you can use contains jpeg or jpg as the filter) to that category.
Are you able to tune the time of day the a once-a-day newsletter is sent? If not, I would post with the newsletter timing in mind. If so, I’d schedule the daily newsletter to be sent around my typical posting schedule.
