New post triggers RSS feed showing old posts as new items

I made a new post this morning and then when NetNewsWire picked up that new post, I was surprised to see a post from April 14th show up as new as well. This has happened a couple time, but I’m not sure why.

I couldn’t find another topic about this, but maybe there is one.

I’m using MarsEdit 4 to post and NetNewsWire to read the RSS feed.

Usually that won’t happen unless the guid for the blog post changes, which shouldn’t happen even when editing an old post. Sounds like there might be another edge case in there where it shows the post as new. Let us know if it happens again and what URL and we can try to investigate in more detail.
