Github archive going nuts?

Hi Team,

I enabled the github archiving when I started on Micro.blog and I just stumbled over 3243 commits in this repo. All (okay, most) from the last week - this is a lot of commits for just one week?

GitHub - tubit/microblog-backup: This is a backup of dnns.micro.blog is the archive.

Was or is there a problem with the archiving?

Thanks,
Dennis

it’s just a very noisy process. Thousands of commits all the time.

I just noticed that my repo commits after ~3 years of using micro.blog are over 17k! Surely, there’s a better way to do this?

Yes, I’m not happy with this system. We use the GitHub API, and for some reason that translates into a huge number of commits. I think it’s outside our control unless we rebuild the feature to use “real” Git commits, which I’ve wanted to do.
